Kapes

4 players · 2 teams · 1 secret signal

Kapes.
A secret between the two of you.

In Kapes, collecting four matching cards is only the beginning. Your partner has to catch the signal before your opponents figure out the play.

How to play Kapes

Pick your character and join a table. The match begins once all four players are present.

  1. 01

    Collect four of a kind

Whoever holds five cards passes one along. Keep trading until you gather four aces, kings, queens or jacks. The Joker does not replace any card.

  2. 02

    Make the signal

Your partner sits across from you. Each team agrees on a secret signal: a thumbs-up, a wink or a raise of the eyebrows. Watch for it and keep your own hidden.

  3. 03

    Call at the right moment

Use KAPES when your partner has four matching cards. Spotted an opponent's combination? Use CORTA and choose who to accuse.

You set the pressure

Two game modes.

Whoever creates the table decides the mode, and it shows up in the table list and on the waiting screen. The mechanics are the same; what changes is how much a mistake costs.

Normal

Miss up to twice.

Made for learning and for lighter matches. Each player may miss KAPES or CORTA up to two times. It is the third mistake that makes your team lose the match.

  • Two mistakes forgiven per player.
  • On a wrong CORTA, the accused shows two cards for a few seconds to prove they did not have the combination — the match pauses and then continues.
  • An accidental double tap counts as a single mistake.

Hard

One mistake decides it.

The original rule, for those who want maximum tension. The first wrong call of KAPES or CORTA ends the match for the team that missed.

  • No mistake is forgiven.
  • Every signal and every accusation matters from start to finish.
  • Ideal for teams who already know their signals well.

What's new

What's new in Kapes.

The game keeps growing. Here's what just landed — and what's still on the way.

Play against the machine

Now you can play solo, offline: you and three bots. Set each one's strength across five levels, from easy to brutal, and practice at your own pace.

Fill the table with bots

Online and short on players? Fill the empty seats with bots and start the match right away, without waiting for four people.

Dropped? Back to the table

If your connection drops mid-match, you reconnect and take your seat back. Meanwhile, a bot holds the seat so the game keeps going.

Rematch in one tap

Match over? Hit Rematch and play again with the same crew, without recreating the table.

Invite by link

Send a link for friends to join your table. Anyone who doesn't have Kapes yet lands on a page with the code and the store buttons.

Stream mode

Going live? Stream mode hides your hand so viewers can't see your cards. Hold to peek whenever you need to.

See who's online

A discreet alert shows when players are online and tables are waiting — so you jump in at the right moment to complete a match.

Questions about Kapes

How many people are needed to play?

Exactly four players, split into two teams of two. The table waits until all four seats are filled.

Which platforms is Kapes available on?

Kapes is available for Windows on the Microsoft Store, for Android on Google Play, for Linux on itch.io and for iPhone, iPad and Mac on the App Store. On all of them, the match happens online, connected to the game server.

What is the difference between Normal and Hard mode?

In Normal mode, each player may miss KAPES or CORTA up to two times; the third mistake makes your team lose. In Hard mode, the first wrong call already decides the match. Whoever creates the table chooses the mode, which appears in the table list and on the waiting screen.

What happens on a wrong CORTA in Normal mode?

The accused player shows two cards for a few seconds, proving they did not have the combination. The match pauses during that proof and then continues from where it stopped.

Do I need to be near my friends?

No. Matches are online. Each player needs an internet connection and the Kapes app.

How do I play only with my friends?

Create a private table and send the four-letter code to the other three players. They join using the code, without searching the public list.

What is the difference between Kapes and Corta?

Kapes declares that your partner has four cards of the same value. Corta accuses an opponent of your choice. A correct call wins; an incorrect one counts as a mistake according to the table's mode.

Can I play against the machine?

Yes. In offline mode you play without internet: you and three bots. Set each bot's strength across five levels, from easy to brutal. Online, you can also fill the table with bots and start right away.

Does the Joker complete the combination?

No. You need four cards of the same value. Three matching cards and a Joker do not form a winning combination.

Can I play on this page?

This is the Kapes presentation and rules page. The match happens in the app, connected to the online server.
